The following chapters should be completed during the second and third marking periods. All materials will support the class lectures and activities.

Chapter 15 - Darwin's Theory of Evolution

Goal: The students will be introduced to natural selection, mutations and species formation. Evidence supporting evolution will also be examined.

Chapter 17 - Section 4 - Patterns of Evolution

Goal: Students will be able to distinguish between the six patterns of macroevolution.

Chapter 18 - Classification

Goal: Students will be able to demonstrate the classification scheme and discover the basic characteristics of domains and kingdoms.
